In response to the current trends of climate change, ecological conservation, environmental protection, and research and development of biological materials, and in order to maintain global ecological environment and sustainable development of human society, as well as become a leading center of forestry and forestry education research, the purpose and mission of this department are as follows:
Purpose:
To pursue excellence in forestry and forestry education and research.
Mission:
To dedicate to professional education and innovative research, expand forest ecosystem services, promote the utilization and recycling of biological materials, address climate change and protect the environment, and enhance various forest ecosystem functions such as carbon sequestration to achieve sustainable development goals.
Core Competencies of Students:
To cultivate excellent forestry and forestry professionals, this department has set up four clusters: "Forest Biology," "Forest Environment," "Biological Materials," and "Resource Conservation and Management," to cultivate the following core competencies in students:
