There is now a greater public awareness on environmental issues such as climate change, ecological conservation, soil, water conservation and so on in recent years. Of course, the department that is most relevant on these issues is undoubtedly the Forestry Department.
On the whole, National Taiwan University's forestry department is like a forestry college, as the stuff you can learn during your four years stay in the department is all-encompassing!
As one of the professor in our department often says: If you can’t find your interest in the Forestry Department, I don’t know where else you can do so! Therefore, as long as you study pretty hard, you don’t need to worry that you can’t find a job in the end. With most of the industries nowadays are downsizing, we are a booming industry!
