Experience | Dr. Chung-Yu Guan is an Associate Professor in School of Forestry and Resource Conservation at National Taiwan University. His Ph.D. was from the Graduate Institute of Environmental Engineering at National Taiwan University. He was a postdoctoral researcher at National Taiwan University, Visiting scholar at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University in Hong Kong, and Kyushu Institute of Technology in Japan. In recent years, Dr. Guan held faculty positions in the Department of Environmental Engineering at National Ilan University, where he served as Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, and Chief of the Health Service Division, Student Affairs. Dr. Guan's research is highly interdisciplinary, focusing on areas such as plant microbial fuel cells, life cycle assessment, carbon footprint analysis, and biorefining technologies. He also has research experience in urban greening, ecological engineering, and advanced oxidation processes. Dedicated to advancing academic collaboration and exchange both nationally and internationally, Dr. Guan has received research awards from the National Science and Technology Council for college and university. He also serves as an editor and reviewer for several international journals. Currently, Dr. Guan is actively engaged in research, teaching, and service within the College of Bioresources and Agriculture and the School of Forestry and Resource Conservation at National Taiwan University. He was honored with the “Young Scholars Awards” by the College. He aims to integrate his expertise in forestry, agriculture, and environmental sciences for net-zero emissions, green energy, sustainable remediation, and the circular economy. Through cross-sector collaboration among academia, industry, and government, Dr. Guan meaningfully contributes to sustainable development at the local, national, and international levels. |
